order types

Postby jimstrading » Nov 20, 11:16 am

My TS strategy sends a stop market buy or sell order.
For natural gas, sometimes it sends it premarket before 9:30, and IB won't fill the order because it needs a limit order at those times.
Is there a way to have trade bullet convert to limit orders so IB will execute it, or do I need to rewrite my strategy?

Hi,

That logic must be in your strategy.

hi
new question

I have two strategys trading from TS, through TB, to IB, and they are working well.
For filling orders I have selected 'Send the TS order as is', and 'Once TS reports a fill, convert limit into market after delay' - 0. (under the TS tab in the options window).

However,
I may want to trade a different strategy, (from a different chart, in a different workspace), that sends a limit order, but I don't want to convert it to a market order.
Is it possible to set this up without affecting the other 2 strategys? If so, how?

and,
If a limit order doesn't get filled, will TB keep TS informed of the position status?

thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

TS8 is not notified of Fills in TB but with your convert immediately setting that is not an issue with limits.

The conversion feature is a global setting, there is no way to set it on a per-system basis.

Hi
I was changing my credit card number at paypal, and I assumed when your charge renewed it would use the new number.
I now looks like it cancelled the subscription.
Will TB continue to operate for me until the end of the subscription period, Feb 24, at which time I can renew, or do I need to do something now?

Hi
I'm currently trading one stock with one strategy from TS to TB to IB.
I'm considering adding another strategy to the same stock in a different chart.

Would TB treat them separately, or would it cancel and rebalance orders based upon the position held in IB ?

Example:
Strategy A goes long 100 with a stop in place.
Later strategy B goes short 100 with a stop in place.
I am now flat.
Later strategy A stops out.
I am now short 100.
etc... for multiple orders and multiple strategys.

What settings, if any, do I need in TB ?
Would I put both charts in the same workspace or a different workspace in TS?
Thanks
Jim

It will work either way. TB will trade the strategies separately.
